Colorado Banking Statistics
With so many promotions available in Colorado, you may be wondering how many banks and credit unions there are.
According to the Credit Union National Association (CUNA), nearly 75% of Colorado’s deposits are with the top 25 largest banks. Credit unions account for 15.4%, and smaller banks make up the remaining 9.9%.
CUNA also notes that Colorado is home to 72 state credit unions, with an estimated 2.3 million credit union memberships statewide.
When it comes to banks, the FDIC’s most recent State Profile of Colorado showed that there were 71 banking institutions in the state, with the largest market by far being Denver/Aurora/Lakewood.
