How Do Truist Bank Promotions Compare?
The Truist One Checking offer is solidly one of the best personal checking bonuses available. While many customers hate when promos are tied to direct deposits – and we get it, navigating your HR's self-service website can be a hassle – it is admittedly one of the best ways for a bank to get new customers to meaningfully use their new account.
Plus, compared to other deals, Truist offers a high payout for a relatively low deposit amount. You're typically given 4 months to accumulate just $1,000 in direct deposits. In exchange, Truist will give you $400.
Compare that to the BMO personal checking bonus which offers $350 for $4k in direct deposits, or the TD Bank Beyond Checking bonus which requires direct deposits totaling $2,500 in exchange for a $300 reward.
On the business side, Truist is again very competitive. They're offering $400 there as well, and in exchange, Truist requires you to enroll in online banking and to deposit $2,000 (just regular ole ACH's will work here).
Compare that to Chase, who gives business owners $300 for depositing $2,000 and completing 5 qualifying transactions (such as debit card purchases, wires, bill pay, etc), or Bank of America, which requires new Bank of America® Business Advantage Banking customers to deposit $5,000 to earn $200.
On the other hand, business owners with sizeable cash might prefer going after bigger bonuses. The deposit requirements are steep, but the rewards can be more than 2X what Truist offers. Truist seems more focused on small companies just starting out.
For example, the Unlimited Plus Business Checking bonus from Huntington offers $1,000 for $20,000 in deposits, or US Bank, who gives new Business Checking customers up to $900 for depositing $25,000.
