U.S. Bank is offering a $100 bonus for opening a new Standard Savings account. The account charges a $4 monthly fee, but that's easily waived by maintaining just $300 in the account – meaning that, for most, the account will be free.
This is the first savings account bonus offer we've seen from U.S. Bank in quite a while. This time around they lowered the bonus, but also lowered the required deposit amount, which makes it a little more attainable.
You'll need to deposit $15,000 to earn the $100 bonus, and then maintain that balance through August of this year. If you deposit the cash at the last possible moment (it needs to be in your account by July 14).
That said, U.S. Bank is a solid choice – particularly for those on the west coast – and if you value the convenience of having your savings and checking accounts at the same institution, then going after this easy savings bonus combined with the additional bonus when you open U.S. Bank Smartly™ Checking account can certainly make a lot of cents (pun intended).
