November 16, 2023When you open the Checking and Line of Credit with Upgrade they may open an account for you at a credit union that you might not normally be eligible for. They opened an account for me in a different state with a $5 gift deposit. That worked out great because that CU had a $50 refer-a-friend bonus. The requirements for Upgrade are easy. My spouse also opened a checking and LOC account. I did NOT receive a hard credit pull, but they DID.

November 16, 2023There is not a hard pull for the Rewards Checking Plus checking account. There is a Hard Pull for the Triple Cash Rewards Visa card.

November 15, 2023It says credit pull "unknown" but surely if you're applying to a card this will be a hard pull on your credit, right?

November 15, 2023First offer was an email for $50 Visa card if I opened account with UBS. Seemed shady but only put $10 to open account. Card shows up as promised and then I started getting the emails from Bank Bonus. So I started using my RMD from a retirement account to fund the offers that required a direct deposit as an income source. Made over $3000 this year so far. Recommend every retired person do this. Free money!!!

November 15, 2023Since many of these financial institutions offer referral programs, a great way to earn additional money on top of the regular SUB money paid out when signing up for bonus offer promo, is to use someone's referral whenever possible.

November 9, 2023Make sure to use a referral to open this account. Referral sometimes help getting approved faster as the banks gets comfortable. This is also a churnable bonus every year so make sure to close your account quickly as soon as the bonus hit

November 8, 2023I’m always looking for new offers that don’t require direct deposit setup so this looks like a good option, but after reading the other comments I might think twice!

November 9, 2023 Replying to Faith YazelI agree with you here. It does not seem attractive if it needs to sign up for a blend of a credit card / line of credit.

November 6, 2023I signed up for this and actually used this account to consolidate some other debt I was paying off. I ended up receiving $400 bonus. This was September 2022 so I don't know if that is still the amount or not.

November 5, 2023This "bonus" was a sham. I cannot recomend Upgrade in any way. The bonus is *only* paid if you are *approved* for the credit card as part of the account opening process. I spent 45 mins on the phone with various clueless reps and was finally told about the credit card.

April 29 Replying to DHey D. Great point. You must get APPROVED in order to get the bonus. My credit score is 800+ but opening things online does not always go through, so I feel your pain. The remedy is usually to go into a branch, but if you are not local, then that is not an option and now your credit score may have taken a hit and you got nothing to show for it. Thanks for your comment. I will take a HARD pass on this one.

November 14, 2023 Replying to Avraham KranczerAgreed, if it's a hard pull for a CREDIT card, then it's not really a bank account offer, but rather a credit card offer, IMO.
