Regions Bank is back with their bonus for new LifeGreen Checking account customers. This time they've upped it to $300.
The bonus used to require debit card purchases and direct deposits as well. This time around, however, the bonus just requires minimum deposits. It's a fairly straightforward offer from a widely available bank.
How To Earn The Bonus
The Regions LifeGreen Checking promotion requires you to set up direct deposits in order to earn the $300 bonus (step-by-step breakdown is listed above!).
As with any offer, don't forget to read the fine print before opening your new account. It's where the bank will clearly state who is eligible for the deal along with any nuances you'll want to be aware of.
The fine print
- Register for the offer by using the promo code RGSPRNG24RM online or by presenting a personalized voucher in-branch (obtained by entering your name and email address on the linked page) before or at the time you open your checking account to be eligible.
- This offer is nontransferable, may not be combined with any other offer, and does not apply if you have or had an ownership interest in a personal Regions checking account on or after January 1, 2023, and may be withdrawn at any time without notice.
- When the credit is issued, new account and CheckCard must be open and have a positive balance.
- Regions associates are not eligible.
- All LifeGreen checking accounts require a $50 minimum opening deposit.

4 weeks agoPart 2 Follow Up. I was Not able to Link an External Bank until I had funds that cleared in the Regions Account. I thought this was rather odd. But, now that the funds cleared, and I attempted to send money to my main bank, I saw there was a $3 Fee for an Outgoing External ACH Transfer. I called the 800 number and they MAY wave this fee as a 1 time courtesy, but this is a Nuisance Fee. If you planned to do a lot of electronic online banking, this could definitely be an issue. I know it bothered me, even though it is just $3 off of a $300 Bonus, for 1 time. But talk about being nickeled and dimed. Does anyone know any other banks that are charging a ACH external transfer fee? TIA.

4 weeks agoI opened this Online on March 6, 2024. My DD over $1k hit 5 days later on March 11, and the very next day, March 12, I got an email that I qualified for the bonus $300 and they even wrote that I would get it by May 10, in 2 months. Not bad at all. FYI- When I opened this account, I was able to do everything right away, like set up my initial electronic deposit. I transferred $1,500 right away so I would not have any fees. So, 7 days ago I opened the account and I am all done with this. I just need to wait 2 months to get the $300 Bonus. Piece a cake. In fact, I found it so simple that tonight, in LESS THAN 15 minutes, I opened up a second account for a family member. And we already switched their DD, which should hit in 5 days. Switching the DD actually took longer than opening than the account! Oh, the day after I opened the account online, I got a welcome phone call from the branch that is closest to me. The manager called me personally and it was a very pleasant experience. No up-sell pushes. Just friendly and helpful. I got 2 more family members that I am going to do this for and this promo will be repeated again in the future. From all that I have read, it seems like they have a 12-18 month CHURN, but, that can also change with any new promo. I highly recommend this Bonus. $1k DD for $300. Thats my sweet spot. I would do these ALL DAY LONG!

November 17, 2023When I had this account in 2022, it didn't require direct deposit, but rather just deposits, which I thought was quite unusual. $1500 required to avoid monthly fee.

November 17, 2023Of all the bank bonuses I have tried to get this one was the most difficult. Had to make countless trips to the local branch to get Zelle to work. It was such a pain but stuck in there, got my money and closed the account. I don't think I will try this one again anytime soon unless I am all tapped out of other options then I will grit my teeth and give it another go....lol!

November 15, 2023I was able to get a Regions bank bonus once in the past. I should qualify for it again now, but when I tried a month ago they couldn't approve my application. It might be once per lifetime to get this.

November 14, 2023I’ve done Regions checking account promotions 3 times already. Easy requirements to get the bonus and have had no issues at all with this bank.

November 14, 2023I earned $200 bonus in mid-2022. Required $1500 balance to avoid fees. Easy to open online, and I was able to close via live chat, which is a nice convenience. The current offer has become 50% more generous than when I got it.

November 13, 2023I got this bonus back in early 2022, when it was $400. I didn't have the same trouble as Bill.. was able to open the account online no problem. Account opened Nov 2021, bonus deposited Feb 2022. They also followed up with a savings offer that iirc wasn't publicly available at the time. I took advantage of that one as well. Still have both accounts, though I don't use the savings account anymore because it pays basically no interest..

November 11, 2023I was able to earn this Regions $300 bonus in late 2023, but it was one of the more labor-intensive bonuses that I've completed. I actually had to go into a branch to get the account opened (and that process was time consuming...probably 30-45 minutes). That being said, I did get the $300 after meeting the requirements, so it was worth it. I recommend doing this one if you have time to spare, but would focus on some of the other bonuses first because they are easier.
