Clearview Federal Credit Union is offering new members up to $500 for opening an Absolute Checking account.
The base offer is $300 for the checking account, and there are two additional "bonuses" on top: (1) $100 for opening a new savings account (your choice between a traditional savings account, MMA, or 12-month CD) at the same time, and (2) another $100 for leaving your checking account open for 1 year, as an anniversary present. That's a total of $500 if you complete everything.
The different offers have slightly different timelines, but the requirements are all fairly easy to meet with a nice payout. It's a good option if you're located in their Pennsylvania footprint.
Each offer pays out after requirements are met. So, about 60 days after account opening for the checking offer, about 90 days after account opening for the savings offer, and about 1 year after account opening for the anniversary offer.
One nice thing about these "direct deposit" offers is that Clearview's fine print says that almost any deposit not performed by a Clearview employee qualifies (including mobile check deposit, Zelle, Venmo, account transfers, etc), so this is significantly easier than typical direct deposit requirements, which are often restricted to payroll or government benefits.
How To Earn The Bonus
The Clearview Absolute Checking promotion requires you to set up eligible direct deposits, and optionally, deposit and maintain a minimum balance in order to earn the up to $500 bonus (step-by-step breakdown is listed above!).
As with any offer, don't forget to read the fine print before opening your new account. It's where the credit union will clearly state who is eligible for the deal along with any nuances you'll want to be aware of.
The fine print
- Offer is only valid for new members age 18 and older with a savings account and Basic, Simple, or Absolute Checking account.
- To receive the anniversary offer, you must have had an electronic deposit of at least $500 or more within 60 days of the anniversary date.
- Nearly any deposit not performed by a Clearview employee qualifies as an electronic deposit. The deposit must be made to a share account (not a loan payment).
- The following transactions are NOT considered electronic deposit: ATM, CO-OP Shared Branch, Dividend Deposits.
- You can take advantage of this offer online or in-branch.
