If you know a few friends who need bank accounts, the Chase Refer A Friend program has some of the best earning potential among all of its coupons.
Existing Chase customers can earn $50 cash back for each new Chase checking account that signs up from your referral link.
The best part of this promotion is that it doesn’t expire, and you can take advantage of it up to 10 times per calendar year.
Keep in mind that Chase has a Refer-A-Friend program for most of their accounts and credit cards, and the amount of the bonus (and whether it's cash or points) can vary depending on which your friend signs up for.
As an example, here are some of the accounts you can refer friends to, along with their reward:

How To Earn The Bonus
The Chase Refer-A-Friend promotion requires you to use a referral link in order to earn the up to $500 bonus (step-by-step breakdown is listed above!).
As with any offer, don't forget to read the fine print before opening your new account. It's where the bank will clearly state who is eligible for the deal along with any nuances you'll want to be aware of.
The fine print
- In order to receive credit for the referral, your friend must apply via the link you provided. If the link is mis-copied in any way or if your friend applies using a different page, you will not receive credit.
- A Chase Total Checking® account can be opened online by the referred friend. If interested in another type of checking account, your friend should take their coupon to a branch and talk with a banker.
- Your friend must be a new Chase checking customer. Not available to existing Chase checking customers, or those whose accounts have been closed within 90 days or closed with a negative balance within the last 3 years.
- You can refer as many friends as you like, but each account/card has a maximum rewards cap (for Chase Total Checking®, the cap is 10 referral bonuses per calendar year). The limit will be shown on the offer page you'll be directed to after inputting your information on the page linked above.
- If you have more than one Chase card that is part of the Refer-A-Friend promotion, you'll need to send referrals separately from their respective product pages. You cannot refer multiple cards from the same page.
- Your account and your friend's account must be open and in good standing at time of payout.

How does this personal checking offer from Chase compare?
To help you determine how this bonus stacks against the rest, here are some of the most popular offers available right now:
Why Chase Bank?
Chase Bank is one of the largest banks in the U.S., and one of our top picks for national banks. You'll have access to more than 4,700 physical branches, more than 15,000 ATMs, and a well-liked mobile app that makes it easy to skip both (it averages 4.8 stars in the App Store and 4.4 stars on Google Play).
Chase offers everything from credit cards, home and auto loans, personal accounts, business and commercial products, and investment products under their J.P. Morgan umbrella.
Like most of the national banks, their rates aren't great, but their product breadth makes it easy to conveniently bank all at one place.
Plus, when it comes to bank bonuses and coupon codes, Chase has some of the best out there. The bank is constantly trying to attract new customers with sign-up bonuses and promotional offers.

Chase Total Checking®
This is Chase's most popular checking account, and it's a solid choice if you want a straightforward, basic checking account. The account does, however, charge for checks and for using ATMs outside of Chase's network, nor does it offer interest on your account balance.
Fees
Chase Total Checking® does charge a monthly maintenance fee of $12, but there are ways to get this waived:
- Make electronic deposits made into this account totaling $500 or more, such as payments from payroll providers or government benefit providers, by using (i) the ACH network, (ii) the Real Time Payment or FedNowSM network, (iii) third party services that facilitate payments to your debit card using the Visa® or Mastercard® network
- OR, maintain a balance at the beginning of each day of $1,500 or more in this account
- OR, maintain an average beginning day balance of $5,000 or more in any combination of this account and linked qualifying Chase checking, savings, and other balances.

November 15, 2023Anyone know if you can combine other Chase offers with this referral offer? That'd be nice, but it doesn't seem obvious that you can do that.

November 8, 2023It’s so nice that the friend you’re referring can open an account online and not have to physically go into a branch. That’s half the battle when referring anyone to anything!
