The fine print

- If you close the account within six months, Chase will take the bonus back.
- You can only receive one new checking account opening related bonus once every two years.
Open a Chase Total Checking® account before the bonus expires on January 22, 2025

Why Chase Bank?
Chase Bank is one of the largest banks in the U.S., and one of our top picks for national banks. You'll have access to more than 4,700 physical branches, more than 15,000 ATMs, and a well-liked mobile app that makes it easy to skip both (it averages 4.8 stars in the App Store and 4.4 stars on Google Play).
Chase offers everything from credit cards, home and auto loans, personal accounts, business and commercial products, and investment products under their J.P. Morgan umbrella.
Like most of the national banks, their rates aren't great, but their product breadth makes it easy to conveniently bank all at one place.
Plus, when it comes to bank bonuses and coupon codes, Chase has some of the best out there. The bank is constantly trying to attract new customers with sign-up bonuses and promotional offers.

November 16, 2023Chase will let you get a bonus every 24 months from the last time you opened an account. If there is a direct deposit requirement, I do not know of any ACH transfer that has been successful at counting as a direct deposit. You will need to plan on using your employer or Social Security for the DD requirement. Be mindful of the monthly fees for checking and savings. Do a monthly DD or keep your balances at $1500 for checking, $300 for savings to avoid monthly fees. Chase is reliable to pay out bonuses on time if you meet the requirements.

November 16, 2023Chase is always good for paying their bonuses. In working with dozens of banks, I can say Chase by and far has the best customer service (with USBank in second place). I did this bonus as well as the Chase business bonus and there was a very small error made that kept me from getting the bonus (money hit my account a business day late or something like that) and I went into the branch and explained the situation and they were able to apply the bonus anyways.

November 15, 2023I've done this bonus before - paid out on time and hassle free. Just make sure to avoid the monthly fees.

November 15, 2023I helped my parents take advantage of this offer. They were very happy for their bonus! They opened the account in the branch with the offer code they received by email. I’m sure they could have opened it online but they prefer to see the banker face to face.

November 15, 2023Chase has always been one of my favorite bonuses to do. I'm currently doing the bonus with them for $900 for both my husband and I. Usually, all of Chase's bonuses are pretty straightforward. However, if you're doing the one for $900, you may have to go inside a branch to deposit your funds. For some reason, my transaction kept getting rejected. Nonetheless, deposit the money as soon as possible. You have up to 30 days, but if you do it sooner, you'll have time to mitigate any unforeseeable issues.

November 14, 2023Over the years I've taken advantage of all Chase credit card promos until for a while I didn't get qualified for their cards again! Basically I paid off my debt before they could make an extra penny on me (mind you, each time you swipe your credit card, Chase collects 5%) and eventually they got tired of me. We're friends again and I'll go for the checking promo now.

November 14, 2023There is a targeted offer that pairs this chase checking bonus with a chase savings bonus. The combination offer pays $900 and includes this $200 checking offer, a $300 savings offer, and a $400 bonus for doing both. I'd look for that combo before doing either the checking or savings individually.

November 11, 2023I earned the Chase $300 bonus in early 2023. It also offered an added bonus for Amazon Prime credit card holders, which was an added bonus for me. I also like Chase's transfer tools, which I often use to move money from other banks that don't have great offerings in this regard. I definitely recommend getting this bonus.

November 6, 2023Chase has some great incentives. This total checking bonus of $300 was pretty simple to get. There were no surprises, no questions. Just remember to waive the $12/mo maintenance fees you need a $1500 daily balance or monthly Direct Deposits of $500. Easy to open, easy to close!

November 3, 2023I suggest waiting for a better one and preferably a combo with savings as it gives additional 100$ for meeting the requirements for both checking and savings. This is churnable so make sure to close the account but not before 6 months after opening. We do not want to mess with Chase

September 8 Replying to Ankit JainI couldnt find in the terms and conditions where it said you need to have account open for 6 months. Do you mind finding that for me please? I'm curious if the bankbonus.com article that states "dont close account for 6 months" is a mistake.

November 3, 2023I’d probably wait until a larger bonus is available for this. If you look online, Chase has had much bigger amounts available in the past few years.

November 3, 2023I had a personal checking account with Chase and I used it quite a few times. However, my experience with Chase has not been the best. I’m not too fond of all the fees it sets especially with maintaining a certain balance in the account. Things happen in life that sometimes it can’t be met. I also have the business checking account of Chase that again I am having the same issues with. I do like that I receive bonuses from Chase when I make a certain amount of purchases. I knew I had to make a big purchase so I used this to my advantage and the bonus was one of the biggest bonuses I received from a bank. I was able to use it towards my statement and other things needed. Again, the specific standards of having so much in the bank or transferred are quite annoying. The process itself to open the account was also a bit extra because I sent all required documents, but somehow they got lost. I do like that they have ample ways to submit your documents to open a checking account, that part is quite easy and convenient. I also like when you step into a Chase bank there is someone welcoming you and asking if you need an appointment/assistance with anything.

November 3, 2023I am still waiting on the bonus for this. I have faith in Chase that it will come through since I followed all the requirements. A friend of mine did this promotion and she received her bonus on time. I still technically have a week left.

November 3, 2023I've received this bonus for my self and P2. It's easy to qualify for and I like it because I use it to qualify for other bonuses. You'll find a number of other bank requirements can be filled by using Chase as a direct deposit.
