Florida Credit Union is giving new members $300 when they open any checking account.
Both checking options are free; however, one offers interest and the other does not.
How To Earn The Bonus
The Florida Credit Union Personal Checking promotion requires you to set up eligible direct deposits in order to earn the $300 bonus (step-by-step breakdown is listed above!).
As with any offer, don't forget to read the fine print before opening your new account. It's where the credit union will clearly state who is eligible for the deal along with any nuances you'll want to be aware of.
The fine print
- Anyone who has held a checking account with FCU in the past year will not qualify for the incentive.
- Must be 18 years of age or older to qualify for this offer.

How to Join Florida Credit Union
Credit unions differ from banks in that they restrict membership based on a shared common bond, or the credit union’s “field of membership”.
That means in order to qualify for this bonus (or any offer from a credit union), you'll first need to meet one of Florida Credit Union's membership requirements:
- Extends to the immediate family of current FCU members.
- Any person who works or resides in one of the 48 Florida counties we serve.
- Any current student or alumni of Santa Fe College or Florida Gateway College.
- Anyone who is currently attending school in Alachua, Gilchrist, Union, Bradford, Columbia, Marion, Pinellas, Hillsborough, Osceola, Brevard, Indian River, Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, Hardee, DeSoto, Highlands, Glades, Okeechobee, St Lucie or Martin counties.
- Anyone who has a child currently attending school in Alachua, Gilchrist, Union, Bradford, Columbia, or Marion counties.
Keep in mind that nearly all credit unions have a "once a member, always a member" policy, so once you're in, the above restrictions no longer apply.
