Why Citi?

Citi is headquartered in New York and has around 2,600 locations worldwide (about 1,000 of those are here in the U.S.) and over 65,000 fee-free ATMs. Plus, so you really never need to worry about getting access to your cash.

Citibank is best known for their credit cards, but they offer just about every product you'd expect from a big national bank – covering banking, lending, investing, and wealth management.

What we really love about Citi is the consistent promotions, usually available nationwide. When you open a new account or credit card, Citi will very often give you bonus cash.

What's more, Citi promotions are often tiered. The low requirements make the offers accessible to most people, but even better, Citi will reward you big if you can meet the highest terms.

Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite Mastercard®

The Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite Mastercard® is a premium travel rewards card aimed specifically at those who fly American Airlines.

One of the main draws of this card is the complimentary Admirals Club® membership. With it, you'll have access to 50 lounges worldwide for you and two guests.

What's more, you can add up to 10 authorized users for no additional cost, and then each person will be granted access for themselves and two guests. That's a big benefit compared to other cards that charge for authorized users, like the Amex Platinum that charges $175 to add up to 3 additional cardholders, in addition to their standard annual fee.

Other day-of-travel perks include a free checked bag for you and up to 8 companions, priority check-in and 25% savings on any in-flight food and drink purchases. You'll also receive a $100 reimbursement every 5 years to cover the cost of TSA PreCheck® or Global Entry.

The card earns 2X AAdvantage® miles on any American Airlines purchases and 1X miles on anything else.

Fees

Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite Mastercard® does charge an annual fee of $450.

While you may not be able to avoid this fee, it can be reduced by doing the following:

  • Each cardmember year, earn a $145 statement credit when you have a qualifying Citigold account, are billed a $450 Annual Fee, and remain a cardmember.
