TIAA Bank is offering an easy bonus to new Yield Pledge Checking customers, with one big caveat: your employer must participate in their Workplace Banking program.

If you're lucky enough to qualify, however, this is a straightforward offer: open a new account, make cumulative direct deposits totaling $1,000 in 90 days, and get $150 for your trouble.

How To Earn The Bonus

The EverBank Yield Pledge® Checking promotion requires you to set up direct deposits in order to earn the $150 bonus (step-by-step breakdown is listed above!).

As with any offer, don't forget to read the fine print before opening your new account. It's where the bank will clearly state who is eligible for the deal along with any nuances you'll want to be aware of.

The fine print

  • This offer is only available to current employees of an institution participating in TIAA Bank’s Workplace Banking program that are opening their first Yield Pledge Checking Account.
  • This offer may not be combined with any other checking account offers from TIAA Bank and is not available to previous or existing Yield Pledge Checking Account customers.
  • Certain account types are also ineligible for purposes of this offer, including, but not limited to, trust accounts, estate accounts, custodial accounts and guardianship accounts.
  • Only one (1) checking account offer is available per customer.
  • To be eligible, you must open your first Yield Pledge Checking Account by applying online from your employer’s dedicated Workplace Banking webpage or by calling 833-880-8422.
  • Account opening minimum of $100 must be new money (funds transferred from another financial institution) and may be satisfied with a qualifying direct deposit.
  • Qualifying direct deposits include electronic deposits into your account of your (1) pension, paycheck, and government benefits (including Social Security) by your employer or the government; and (2) other regular income, such as annuity payments.
  • Transactions that do not constitute qualifying direct deposits for this offer include, but are not limited to, person-to-person transfers, transfers between your TIAA Bank accounts or accounts you have at other banks or financial institutions (including investment and brokerage firms), wires, and checks deposited by any means.
  • TIAA Bank expressly reserves the right to determine, in its sole and absolute discretion, whether any deposit constitutes a “qualifying direct deposit” for purposes of this offer.
  • Account must be open and in good standing at the time of the bonus fulfillment.
