How To Earn The Bonus
The BMO Savings Builder promotion requires you to deposit and maintain a minimum balance in order to earn the up to $60 bonus (step-by-step breakdown is listed above!).
As with any offer, don't forget to read the fine print before opening your new account. It's where the bank will clearly state who is eligible for the deal along with any nuances you'll want to be aware of.
The fine print
- Available only to those who live in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Kansas, Missouri, Minnesota, Arizona, or Florida.
- If you contribute at least $200 to your account within the same month that you open the account, you'll be eligible for 12 rewards. If you don't fund your account or it's not received until the next month, you're limited to 11 rewards.
- The first savings reward is based on your savings growth from the Business Day the account is opened through the last Business Day of that month.
- For every month that your balance on the last business day of the current month is at least $200 more than the balance on the last business day of the previous month, you'll earn $5. To calculate if your balance has grown by $200, they will compare the Ledger Balance on the last Business Day of the previous month to the Ledger Balance on the last Business Day of the current month.
- If earned, the $5 bonus will be credited to your account within 5 calendar days after the end of the month.
- You cannot combine this offer with any other personal savings bonuses, but you can stack this with a checking account welcome bonus.
- Savings rewards are available for new accounts only. An account switched into Savings Builder from a different product is not eligible for savings rewards.
